DIY TEAM BUILDING

For groups on a budget, we can offer team building activities with  fully guided instructions & materials for you to facilitate on your own. We carefully prepare and customize each of these activities for your group based on your objectives and the number of participants you have. Some examples of our DIY activities are listed below.

Mousetrap Car Grand Prix

The Mousetrap Car Grand Prix is an energetic competition where participants design and race cars powered by mousetrap springs. The goal is for teams build and modify their vehicles to maximize speed and distance. The event is highly adaptable, suitable for various venues and time frames from 90 minutes to 3 hours.

Towering Objectives

Towering Objectives is a fast-paced activity designed for sessions lasting 60–90 minutes, where teams of eight construct a tower from cards and tape capable of supporting up to 40 oz. of water. The challenge emphasizes communication, problem-solving, and collaboration as teams translate complex instructions into a physical structure.

Puzzling Team Challenge

The Puzzling Team Challenge is a dynamic activity where groups of 10–12 race to complete a jigsaw puzzle and uncover a hidden message on its back. Teams face added challenges, such as starting with mixed pieces from other puzzles forcing them to adapt and communicate. The hidden message is revealed when all completed puzzles are flipped and joined together, illustrating the importance of collaboration and seeing the "big picture."

Lost at Sea

Lost at Sea is a team-building activity inspired by the time management principles in Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. Teams must prioritize items and plan their first day adrift after escaping a sinking ship, navigating unexpected events and crises along the way. Success depends on effective planning and teamwork. As with all DIY options, this activity comes with full materials, instructions, and a facilitator guide for a structured experience.

Each of these E-books have a wide variety of activities with easy to follow instructions. These are easy to set up and facilitate and they don’t require a lot of equipment or materials.
